As Bangladesh’s geographical gateway, Chattogram has long been a hub for global trade, attracting Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch, French, and British merchants. This prosperity, however, was not matched by educational opportunities, leaving the region behind in knowledge and learning. To address this, visionary philanthropists stepped forward, with Haji Muhammad Mohsin’s Mohsin Fund playing a pivotal role. Funded by this initiative, a 30-acre institution was established—now standing as Govt. Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, Chattogram, a lasting symbol of education and progress. Today, the college continues its mission of empowering generations with knowledge and excellence.

Today, Govt. Haji Muhammad Mohsin College stands as one of the leading institutions in Chattogram in the fields of education and culture. Recognized as the best college nationally in 1995, 2001, and 2004, the college continues to achieve success in academic excellence and cultural activities.The college offers programs at the higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, with 85 experienced faculty members providing education to nearly 14,000 students. Regular cultural, religious, and extracurricular activities are held here. For over a century and a half, the college has contributed to the advancement of education and society. The current administration is committed to the overall development of the college, working with the goal of nurturing future leaders.
